Air Pressure

Ensuring your tires maintain the correct air pressure is among the most important safety maintenance before embarking on any road trip. To correctly inflate your tires, check your owner’s manual for the best air pressure. Avoid inflating your tires to the pressure indicated on the tire itself—this figure represents the maximum pressure the tire can withstand, not the recommended pressure for your vehicle. It is also always a good idea to check your spare tire for proper inflation when checking the rest of your tires.

Tread Depth

Inspect your tire tread carefully and replace tires exhibiting uneven wear or insufficient tread depth. Typically, new tires come with 11/32 inches of tread. We suggest replacing tires when the tread depth reaches approximately 4/32 inches or lower. You can determine tire replacement needs by using the built-in wear bar indicators or conducting the penny test. For the penny test, insert a penny into the tread with Lincoln's head facing downwards. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it indicates that it's time to replace your tires.

Vehicle Overloading

A vehicle carrying an excessive load places strain on tires, which can result in damage and eventual tire failure. Refer to the manufacturer's load recommendation, accessible on the vehicle information placard located within the driver’s side door post or in the vehicle owner's manual.
