The best day of Lucy Noonan’s life was when her son Demetri was born. It’s quite fitting during this May issue to recognize Mother’s Day and the profound bond that mothers share with their children.
Lucy is co-owner of Synergy Realty, a highly successful real estate boutique brokerage in Southlake. The George and Noonan Real Estate Group, led by Troy George and Lucy Noonan, is the leading luxury team at Synergy.
Lucy was one of seven children and always looked forward to having her own family. Her son Demetri is now 30 years old, and Lucy considers him to be her compass, her best friend and the true light of her life.
“Whoever would have thought that your child would become your best friend,” Lucy marvels.
The two enjoy many of the same things – restaurants, travel, sipping incredible wines, being with family as much as possible, and, of course, spending time together. They’ve been to Greece, Paris, Italy, and have traveled the U.S., spending time with family from California to the Florida Keys.
Lucy and Demetri text daily, even though both of their careers keep them busy and take them to various destinations. Near or far, they still make time to check in and maintain frequent communication.
Lucy and her own mother were close that way. As the first of her siblings to have a baby, Lucy’s parents were delighted when Demetri was born. They spent a lot of time with him growing up, passing on the multi-generational family values that gave Demetri a solid foundation as a child.
“We’re all such a close family. We’ve always played together, traveled together and enjoyed being with each other,” Lucy says.
Today, Demetri is a top professional paintball player and avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing and other activities. He’s also a licensed realtor for the George and Noonan Real Estate Group.
“The best part of being a mom is watching your child grow. It’s been so fulfilling to see my son evolve into such a smart, creative man,” Lucy says. “He brings me so much joy.”
“It’s so special to evolve from a parent/child relationship to friendship as adults,” Lucy says.
